Volcanoes National park / Parc National des Volcans
This is mostly famous for being a home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas in Africa. Akagera National park

Rwandan Art, Crafts & Culture
Nyanza royal palace, Rukari
This Royal palace sits at Rukali in Nyanza, with an impressive and enormous dome structure made of traditional material. Nyanza became Rwanda’s royal capital in 1899 when King Yuhi V Musinga was a ruler. The place became a trade center with artistic and intellectual activities taking place as well as economic exchange. The palace was restored to its state and is now maintained as a museum.
The Museum Of Rwandan Ancient History
This was formerly the residence of King Mutara III Rudahingwa who is buried on the neighboring hill of Mwina together with his wife Queen Rosalie Gicanda. It sits at Rukali next to the Royal palace and was restored into a museum to offer glimpse of how the life in Rwanda once was.
Rwesero Arts Museum
This is Arts museum displays contemporary artwork that reflects the creativity of Rwanda, while not overlooking tradition and national history.
Situated between the Museum of Rwandan ancient history and Nyanza Royal palace 2km from Nyanza town, it was originally built as a palace for King Mutara III Rudahingwa, but unfortunately died before he occupied it.
The National Museum of Rwanda
This is located in Huye, and is the best known in Rwanda. It houses the finest East African ethnographic and archaeological collections, with more than 10000 artifacts displayed.
The displays provide an insight on pre-colonial lifestyles as well as the sequential development of Rwanda into a modern state it is now.
The Museum of Natural History
This is situated in Kigali and was formerly occupied by a German scientist by names of Richard Kandt who was the first German imperial resident in the country. This has since been turned into a museum of Natural History and more especially is homage to Richard’s work.
