Africa Adventure Safaris operates in Uganda and Rwanda but also extends services to Eastern DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi.

What quality of accommodations should I expect?

Most accommodations in the national parks are in form of self-contained rustic and comfortable cottages/bandas and tented camps with en suite or private bathroom facilities, good food, well-stocked bars, and most with flush toilets and hot and cold running water. In the very remote places the facilities are basic but clean with bush toilets and showers. There is no clear-cut difference between mid-range and basic accommodation except that in the very remote areas basic accommodation means shared bathrooms and unpredictable hygiene.

What quality and type of food do I expect?
A wide range of local food is offered in different destinations ranging from local, western and Oriental cuisines. Vegetarian diets are also available. Drinking water for guests is strictly bottled clean and safe water; tap water is not safe for drinking.

How knowledgeable are the guides from Africa Adventure Safaris?
We recruit local guides with proven experience in mammals, birds and tourist attractions in particular areas. Our company guides are always subjected to regular training e.g bird guides training which is annually held. Safety training is an integral part of their training.

What do I need to bring with me?
You can carry any item you feel will make your life comfortable. Please check on the PACKING LIST on our website.

What are the age or health restrictions for a given activity?
Any one suffering from communicable diseases such as influenza, diarrhea, or cough is not allowed to enter any national park. In case you happen to be suffering from such diseases you need to report it to the park authorities as this may help you to obtain a refund.
For gorilla trekking young children below 12 years old are not allowed to track the gorillas or chimpanzees as this may could danger to their lives.

How do I get to the hotel on arrival at the airport?
We normally send a company representative to welcome and transfer you to the hotel of your choice. He is responsible for helping you with all the check-in procedures at the hotel.

How do I confirm a safari with Africa Adventure Safaris?
Depending on the activity, we normally require you to pay 30% deposit on our company bank account for activities not involving gorilla trekking; however if you have to track gorillas just deposit only US$500 for each permit the balance can be paid on arrival. We do accept visa card payments.
