Canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park - Rwanda safari

Canopy walk in Nyungwe national park was launched on 15th October, 2010 by the Rwanda development board(RDB). The first in East Africa and only third in Africa after South Africa and Ghana, the canopy walk lies 50metres above the ground, and 90metres long, with three towers which gives one a spectacular view of the park and its wildlife.

The dizzying platform which is above a steep and deep valley trotting across the massive forest of Nyungwe, offers an opportunity to experience the park in an exciting way, as it enables an eye level contact with the birds, butterflies and other primates which inhabit the upper scale of the forest, more especially the black and white colobus monkeys, the world’s ever recorded arboreal troop.

The canopy walk in Nyungwe forest national park, which was gazetted in 2005, and a home of over 300 bird species, 13 primates, over 100 orchid, and the largest montane forest in East Africa, more treasured for tourist as Chimpanzee tracking is so interesting,  gives it every reason to be visited.
The park has also the five star hotels, Nyungwe Forest Lodge which gives an assurance for the best time during the visit to the park.
