Day 1: Kigali – Volcano National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali airport our company representative will welcome you and transfer you to Kinigi - Ruhengeri, home of the endangered mountain gorillas.
This drive may take you approximately 2 ½ -hours as you drive past stunning scenery of lush green hills and valleys to the base of Sabinyo Mountain –one of the Virunga Volcanoes. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Gorillas Nest or similar other
Day 2: Volcano National Park.
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the national park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers before commencing the gorilla trek at 8.30 am. An encounter with the mountain gorilla is such a thrilling experience. It usually takes between 2 to 8 hours to meet these gentle apes. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Gorillas Nest or similar
Day 3: Volcano National Park – Dian Fossey Grave
After breakfast, our tour guide will transfer you to Karisoke where Dian Fossey was buried along her friendly gorilla called Digit. This is the station where Dian Fossey, in the 1970s carried out comprehensive research on the mountain Gorillas in Africa. A book, ‘Gorillas in the Mist’ has documented her work.
