4 Days Birding Safari, Rwanda Gorilla & Bird watching Trip

Birding safari overview
This four days gorilla tracking and birding adventure takes place in Volcanoes national park, a home to the endangered mountain gorillas, where over 200 bird species is recorded.

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National park
In the morning, you will transfer to volcanoes national park, with en route stopovers to view different species of birds such as White-tailed Blue Flycatcher, Bronze Sunbird, White-browed Robin Chat, Common Bulbul, Spot-flanked Barbet, White-necked Raven. Dinner and overnight at Gorillas nest hotel/La palme hotel/Kinigi guest house.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking adventure
In the morning, you will move to the parkheadquarters for briefing about the do and don’ts while with the gorillas before proceeding to the forest for a memorable gorilla tracking adventure. Along the trail, you will watch several bird species as they play in the forest, most of which are albertine endemic. Return to the lodge for relaxation as you watch several birds play in the gardens.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Kivu
In the morning, you will have a birding experience in the forest to catch up with the birds as they rise from their nests. Later transfer to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi, with birding experience along the way, where you will see bird species as Thick-billed, Streaky Seedeaters, Yellow-fronted, Yellow, Brimstone Canaries, Little, Cinnamon Bee-eater, Common Fiscal, Rock Martin, Lanner Falcon, Augur Buzzard, Black Kite, Variable Sunbird, Black Saw-wing, Yellow-billed. After lunch in the afternoon, you will have a birding experience along the lake where you will see birds like the king fisher, Common Waxbill, Mackinnon's Fiscal Shrike, White-headed Saw-wing, Dusky Flycatcher, Bronze Mannikin, Yellow Bishop, Speckled Mousebird among others. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Kigali
In the morning after breakfast, you embark on route to Kigali with birding experience on the way. Reach Kigali early enough to enjoy an afternoon city tour.
